A lot of things you see as a child remain with you…you spend a lot of your life trying to recapture the experience.

Name: Tim Burton
Born: 25 August, 1958 -- Burbank, CA
Relationships: Lena Gieseke (married - divorced)
Lisa Marie (engaged - separated)
Helena Bonham Carter (engaged)
Children: Billy Ray, with Helena. Born October, 2003.

Tim’s love of movies started when he was a very young child, watching old horror flicks with Vincent Price and the like in them. In high school he made a few movies to get out of having to write papers, one of them being a stop animation film in which Tim is attacked in his sleep by a beanbag…
The creative genius that is Tim Burton had a rather trying childhood. He had a torturous-looking set of braces and moved in with his grandparents at the age of 10. Ever since then he’s really not talked with his family. Knowing this, one may realise how much of his own like Tim puts into his movies.

...you always have to feel like it's gonna be the greatest, even if it's a...you know...piece of crap.

Burton Trade Marks
- Often starts off with the camera going through something (Batman, Beetle Juice, Edward Scissorhands), or following something (Batman Returns, Mars Attacks!, Sleepy Hollow).
- His films have a gothic film, often including Christmas and/or Halloween scenes.
- Plot is often focused around a misunderstood outcast.
- Frequently features dead or dismembered dogs.
- He often likes to open his films with a quiet night time snowfall.
- Many of his films feature townspeople who misunderstand and/or distrust the lead character.
- He loves old horror actors and often makes movies about them (Ed Wood, Vincent), or actually casts them in his movies! (Vincent Price, Michael Gough, Christopher Lee, Christopher Walken.)
- Often shows scarecrows in his movies.
- His movies always opens with a personal version of the studio's logo.
- Usually includes fantasy elements in his films.
- Frequently uses composer Danny Elfman.
- Frequently casts Johnny Depp, Michael Keaton, Martin Landau, Helena Bonham Carter, Michael Gough, Christopher Lee, Christopher Walken, Lisa Marie, Jack Nicholson, Danny DeVito, Vincent Price, Jeffrey Jones, Pat Hingle and Missi Pyle.

I wouldn't know a good script if it bit me in the face.

Please keep all posts containing something that relates to Tim Burton. His movies, his art, his poetry, etc.
Graphics and FanFics relating to Tim are also welcome.

If you have done some art that has been inspired by Tim, that is allowed. Just give us clear reasons why he has inspired you and what made you create what you had etc.

Please don't use profanity in anyway. If someone posts art do not bash them. If it doesn't suit your liking don't comment. If you'd like to use constructive criticism, ask first

Most of all just be friendly. Mean people suck.

If you're here then we can agree that Tim Burton is one of the most creative and innovative minds the film industry has seen yet. That is why we have decided to make this community honoring the one and only Tim Burton. I have respected him since I first saw Nightmare Before Christmas when I was just a little girl. Though my respect has increased drastically over the years, Tim Burton remains my favorite director/producer/artist of all time.

If you have any further questions about the community please feel free to contact me n0thingisreal or Laura fork_my_eye, your mods.
